Barry Culligan was born, raised, and lives in West Ireland. He has been a student of the Urantia Book for 16 years. His discovery of the book marked the end of one phase of spiritual development and the beginning of a never ending adventure in God seeking, God finding, and God revealing.

Barry has worked as a spiritual retreat facilitator for the De La Salle’s, and as a school chaplain for both the Patrician’s and the Cistercian’s. He’s a musician, singer-songwriter, poet, and blogger. He has a degree in Philosophy & Theology from Mary Immaculate College and a Post Grad in Ecumenics from Trinity College Dublin.

Barry runs courses in Applied Spirituality, through which he explores the spiritual foundations of happiness. The goal of this course is threefold:

  •     To help all people realize the abiding peace, sublime happiness, and glorious destiny that is the spiritual birthright of the children of God.
  •     To empower individuals in their efforts to actualize their divine potential, to assist them in the actualization their capacity for God-likeness.
  •     To establish a consciousness in which we are free from fear, ennobled by loving service, and inspired by glorious purpose.

Barry has established his own ministry called Strange Preacher Ministries and offers retreat facilitation, public talks, spiritual counselling, and conducts classes in Applied Spirituality. He is also a regular contributor to Spirituality Ireland.

Being a poet and writer, inspired him to establish the Urantian Artisans Facebook Forum for UB based artists to share their work and to facilitate collaboration on projects.
