What a great show the Cosmic Citizen is - where else can you find such intelligent guests and intellectual conversation about fascinating topics? Keep up the great work! It's great to hear guests that are not UB readers too - because they will certainly draw more listeners outside the UB community. I'm so looking forward to hearing Pastor Phil Gulley. I'd like to suggest Rev Eric Stetson of Christian Universalist organization as a follow-up guest sometime after Phil Gulley. Anyone who is on the board over at the Christian Universalist .org site would also make a great guest! Great show, though you people said nothing about how the coming freshwater crisis, global warming, plagues and other natural phenomenon also work as masked eugenicists. There is actually a genetic crisis in the animal kingdom as we speak. Allot of species will go extinct as a result of our invasion and destruction of the natural world: The urban jungle literally chokes the natural jungle. The animal kingdom is on the verge of the sixth great mass-extinction.

       The sessions are hosted by Ann of Texas, a long time student of the book, minister, active participant in interfaith outreach. We not only discuss religion but history, geology, anthropology, evolution, cosmology, philosophy -- topic vary with whoever chooses to participate.

    Dominican University Conference - Phil Taylor and Charles Olivea

    Charles Olivea has been married for 43 years to wife, Mary. They live to Santa Fe, New Mexico, because of its appeal along spiritual, ethnic, historical and aesthetic lines. Charles has studied The Urantia Book since 1968 and has tried to integrate its teachings into his life. He knew from the beginning that it constituted living truth and eventually appreciated why this planetary revelation came in book form: essentially, to bring greater clarity and instruction (spiritual wisdom) to our minds. He has have dedicated his life--personally and professionally (he is a teacher)--to its dissemination.

    Phil Taylor has been a reader of The Urantia Book since 1991, when he found it in college. His passion is service; that's what he speaks about at conferences.

    Interview with Pastor Danielle Shroyer

    This Saturday is a follow up on last week's show discussion The Emergent Church movement, specifically the Christianity21 conference, and New Communities of Faith with Guest speaker Danielle Shroyer.
        Danielle is one of the 21 female speakers at the Christianity Conference held in Minneapolis two weeks ago. She is the pastor of Journey Church in Dallas, considered to be one of the new emergent communities of faith. Services or gatherings are held on Sunday evenings, and discussion vary to cover many topics such as letting the life of Jesus inspire us with joy and abundant life, rather than focusing only on his death on the cross, such as "Vampire Christians" who are only interested in Jesus for his blood.
        She asks the question on her blog, "Should church be Fun?" and has also held services that focus on peace-making, fair trade, feeding the poor, and going green.
        One of her influences theologically has been Jurgen Moltmann, a Twentieth Century Christian Theologian from Germany, the author of more than 25 books, whose work including "The Theology of Hope" revolutionized much Christian pastoral speakers and sparked a great deal of interest and discussion in Christian circles.
        Danielle is an author herself and her first book The Boundary-Breaking God: An Unfolding Story of Hope and Promise (Jossey-Bass, 2009) has just been released. She speaks often on issues of theology, church leadership and emerging communities of faith. Her father was a Southern Baptist and her mother was from a Muslim family from Lebanon. Danielle lives with her husband and two children in Dallas, Texas.

    Interview - Phyllis Tickle

    PHYLLIS TICKLE, founding editor of the Religion Department of PUBLISHERS WEEKLY, the international journal of the book industry, is frequently quoted in print sources like USA TODAY, CHRISTIAN SCIENCE MONITOR, NY TIMES as well as in electronic media like PBS, NPR, THE HALLMARK CHANNEL, and innumerable blogs and web sites. Tickle is an authority on religion in America and a much sought after lecturer on the subject. Tickle is a founding member of The Canterbury Roundtable, and serves now, as she has in the past, on a number of advisory and corporate boards. A lay eucharistic minister and lector in the Episcopal Church, she is the mother of seven children and, with her physician-husband, makes her home on a small farm in Lucy, Tennessee.

    Phyllis Tickle, founding editor of the religion department at Publishers Weekly, is one of the most highly respected authorities and popular speakers on religion in America today. She is the author of more than two dozen books on the subject, including the recently published The Words of Jesus: A Gospel of the Sayings of Our Lord and The Divine Hours, a series of manuals for observing fixed-hour prayer. A lector and lay eucharistic minister in the Episcopal Church, Tickle is a senior fellow of the Cathedral College of Washington National Cathedral.     Jennifer Skiff,author of the book God Stories has collected a wide variety of testimonies from various faith-traditions; stories of how God's grace has touched people's lives.
        Jennifer is currently working with Oprah Winfrey, as well as a team of Hollywood writers and directors for a dramatic television series based on the book.
        Jennifer Skiff’s award-winning career as an international television journalist includes more than a decade as an investigative correspondent for CNN. Her specialty is the environment and among other industry honors, she has received the prestigious Environmental Media Award. Passionate about animals and their welfare, she works with charities throughout the world to bring relief to abused and abandoned animals.
        A cancer scare in her early thirties convinced her that a Divine presence was active in her life. Her journalistic instincts took over and she began a quest to find out if others had similar experiences. The result is her first book, God Stories, a collection of inspiring first-person accounts of miracle-like encounters with God.
