This episode will cover the basics of backyard survival gardening and why you should do it. I will be covering seed selection, finding which growing zone you are in, soil testing, choosing a location sun or shade, fencing and dealing with garden pests of the four legged variety (we will cover organic pesticides in part 2), building a compost bin and why it is important, soil prep, and whether or not you should plant in the ground or in a raised bed.
