Join us today on Women Lead Radio, as Joanie Connell, your host of REAL Life Lessons, interviews Margaret Grossman, Retired Editor in Chief at Executive Publications.

Everyone talks about the path to the top as if it’s a straight line, but real life doesn’t usually work like that—especially for women. For example, how does a photography model make her way to editor-in-chief of The Executive magazine? By being resilient, empowered, authentic, and limber.

Margaret Grossman who will share REAL stories from her curvy climb up the magazine industry. Margaret worked her way up in the publishing industry, starting out as a drama critic, moving to freelance articles for magazines like Harper’s Bazaar and Ladies Home Journal. She became an editor at the French fashion magazine, L’Officiel, and then beauty editor at CUE Magazine, the predecessor of New York Magazine.  Margaret’s creative approach led her to become the editor-in-chief of three business magazines at Executive Publications.

Joanie Connell is your host for REAL Life Lessons, a show where REAL (resilient, empowered, authentic, limber) women speak about what it takes to be successful in the real world. Using the REAL Life model, Dr. Connell, author of Flying without a Helicopter, interviews highly successful women about the unanticipated aspects of work life that no one prepared us for.  Though important for everyone, these lessons are particularly useful for women who were raised by helicopter parents, women who didn’t learn life’s lessons growing up in a protected world.
