Who says that "professional polarizers" get to set the terms for our U.S. conversations about immigration - or anything for that matter? We decided to stop waiting for someone else to lead the way, and instead set up our own immigration conversation in Utah.  First, we did a more intimate Living Room Conversation with a few people spanning perspectives and racial/ethnic backgrounds, then we held a larger community dinner/dialogue event where we invited more people to join the fun (see pictures here). As the final step, we took some of the key voices in the conversation and held a more focused radio conversation that you can listen to here - bringing together historian Fiona Halloran from Rowland Hall (left-leaning) and policy expert Derek Monson from the Sutherland Institute (right-leaning) - joined by Jodi Graham (Utah Humanities) and Jacob Hess (Village Square, Salt Lake City) co-sponsors of this immigration conversation series in Utah. Let us know what you think!
