P2P - LITERACY: THE THREAT TO EVERY "MASSAH"

Continuing our PLANTATION TO THE PEW series, we will be discussing how literacy was the biggest threat to every slave system.  There were laws against teaching slaves how to read.  The ability to read, gave the enslaved the means of knowledge and education and the desire for more than what they had.  Slave masters kept control by keeping their slaves totally dependant, isolated and ignorant.  LITERACY threatened and destroyed all this.  Do Pimp Preacher churches keep people dependant, isolated and ignorant? Can any Christian truly walk in freedom without being biblically literate?
