Mrs Rosa Bernard moved to Indianapolis from Denver in 1998 and joined Barnes United Methodist Church. She immediately became involved with the local chapter of the United Methodist Women organization. She served as Social Actions Coordinator for the Southern Indiana Conference for four years.
In addition, she served as secretary for the Steering Committee during the realignment of the Northern and Southern Indiana Conferences. And for the past 8 years served on the Bishop's Episcopacy committee and later as secretary. Presently, she serves on a Human Trafficking Team through the Women's Division and had her training in 2009 in Atlanta, Georgia.
In September 2011, Mrs Bernard and the UMW Mission Team traveled to Brazil, where the Ubunti Team shared information in two cities Sao Paula and Fortalezza. We are delighted to have such a well versed person speak on the subject of "Human Trafficking".
Mrs. Bernard explains Ubunti " is the essence of being human. It speaks of the fact that my humanity is caught up and is inextricably bound up in yours. I am Human because I belong. It speaks about wholeness, it speaks about compassion".
