#83 The Book of Mormon for Latter day Families Jacob 1:1

I love the scriptures!!!

Jacob, the younger brother of Nephi, speaks of his work to have people come unto Christ.

The division of this family with the Lamanites going with the things of the world and Nephi's people striving to follow the teachings of the gospel resonate even today as communities and families are torn apart over these same issues. This is six hundred years before Jesus Christ. We are over 2000 years since Christ came to earth and yet the same truth applies.

We can convince ourselves that the world is any sort of thing and even accept great atrocities as they did of old. It is a sort of self hypnotize that can affect millions truly but it is still a self inflicted reality. We can talk ourselves into believing any possible reality but it takes great courage to yield to the Holy Ghost and learn of the truth and bear witness of it in our actions in our daily lives and in our teachings.

Father sends us many aids in this challenge, because he knows it is a challenge, but we must desire his assistance. He will not force it upon us.
