While emergency management agencies have many dilemmas facing them in a world wrought with disaster, the most daunting could be how to prepare the public BEFORE the disaster strikes. Disaster preparedness events are the name of the game here at Chasing4Life, but to the community that is trying to break the ice, where do you start?

On this show we will be taking a look at the step by step process of how one county made the effort to reach their population from the youngest to the oldest and how their efforts paid off.

We will be interviewing Chanay Ray, Administrative Assistant from the  Douglas County IL  Emergency Management Agency (EMA) and Coroner’s  Office.

Douglas County has a lot of threats lurking behind the scenes so preparedness education was a high priority, but how to do it? Could it be done without disrupting all of the other projects in the County?

Is it really worth investing in preparedness events?
