Acts 4:36–37

There's a man in the Bible called Barnabas but Barnabas wasn't his real name. His name was Joses,  and today we'd nickname him Barnie but the apostles called him Barnabas....

The name Barnabas means encouragement.  So here was a man who had a gift, and his gift was the gift of encouragement.

And because of Barnabas' encouragement  we have been blessed by the writings of Paul and Mark and The Church of Antioch.

So I am glad for encouragers, in fact did you know it was the church at Antioch that preserved the text of the Bible and passed it on to Europe?  Those manuscripts were the documents used by Wycliffe, Tyndale, Martin Luther, Calvin and the King James Translation Committee.

So the Church of Antioch is responsible for getting the Bible to Europe which included Paul's and Mark's writings where it was translated into English!!!  All because of Barnabas!

So it's not the quantity but the quality that matters!  Listen to this message and learn how God used Barnabas in the practice of stewardship, to extend friendship, encourage partnership, develop leadership and to encourage others to rebuild their broken relationships with the LORD Jesus Christ!
