Making A Difference - Restore One

    in Motivation

Restore One was founded June 2012, by a husband and wife team, Chris and Anna Smith. Chris and Anna have a passion to see human trafficking survivors experience the healing freedom found in Jesus Christ and for community members to mobilize against the problem of human trafficking.? Restore One is a ministry that seeks to open shelters that offer faith-based residential recovery programs, free of cost to American boys who are survivors of domestic minor sex trafficking (DMST). Restore One will treat every survivor as a unique individual by using holistic approaches and proven clinical methods that nurture healing and restoration. Restore One also counteracts human trafficking and human exploitation by community awareness, education, outreach and partnerships. Restore One’s goal is to see DMST survivors live in complete freedom, and to generate communities that are intolerable to the problem of human trafficking and human exploitation.

Anna is a strong advocate for sex trafficked and sexual exploited males. Anna has a resilient passion to see child sex trafficking victims experience true healing and restoration. While Chris is not focused on the ground breaking efforts of Restore One, he enjoys creating and working on his first book entitled 10 Things A Youth Pastor Wants to Tell A Parent. Chris also enjoys spending time with his wife Anna and their 2 dogs, Titus and Barnabas, and taking part in a number of outside activities.

SDG 97 It's not Quantity but Quality A Lesson from Barnabas

    in Spirituality

    Acts 4:36–37
There's a man in the Bible called Barnabas but Barnabas wasn't his real name. His name was Joses,  and today we'd nickname him Barnie but the apostles called him Barnabas....
The name Barnabas means encouragement.  So here was a man who had a gift, and his gift was the gift of encouragement.
And because of Barnabas' encouragement  we have been blessed by the writings of Paul and Mark and The Church of Antioch.
So I am glad for encouragers, in fact did you know it was the church at Antioch that preserved the text of the Bible and passed it on to Europe?  Those manuscripts were the documents used by Wycliffe, Tyndale, Martin Luther, Calvin and the King James Translation Committee.
So the Church of Antioch is responsible for getting the Bible to Europe which included Paul's and Mark's writings where it was translated into English!!!  All because of Barnabas!
So it's not the quantity but the quality that matters!  Listen to this message and learn how God used Barnabas in the practice of stewardship, to extend friendship, encourage partnership, develop leadership and to encourage others to rebuild their broken relationships with the LORD Jesus Christ!

    in Radio

GALATIANS 2:11 (Peter and others rebuked by Paul for hypocrisy and false doctrine.

Vs. 11. But when Peter was come to Antioch, I withstood him to the face,  because he was to be blamed.

Vs. 12. For before  that certain came from James he did eat with the Gentiles: but when they were come, he withdrew and separated himself, fearing them which were of the circumcision.

Vs. 13.  And the other Jews disembled likewise with him; in so much that Barnabas also was carried with their dissimulation.

Vs. 14.  But when I saw that they walked not uprightly according to the truth of the gospel, I said unto Peter before them all. if thou being a Jew, livest after the manner of Gentiles, and not as do the Jews, why compelled thou the Gentiles to live as do the Jews?

Vs.  15.  (Justification by Faith without the law (Gal. 2:15-3:12; Rom. 3:21-5:11; Ephesians 2:1-10) Even Jews must be justified by Faith.

We who are Jews by nature, and not sinners of the Gentiles,

Vs.  16. Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the Faith of Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the Faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.

Vs.  17.  But if, while we seek to be justified by Christ, we ourselves also are found sinners,is therefore Christ the minister of sin ? God forbid.

    in Radio

vs.  1.  Then Fourteen years after I went up again to Jerusalem with Barnabas, and took Titus with me also.

vs.  2.  And I went up by revelation, and communicated unto them that Gospel which I preach among the Gentiles, but privately to them who were of reputation, lest by any means  I should run, or had run in vain.

vs.  3.  { His Jewish workers were not required to obey Jewish law.}   But neither Titus, who was with me, being a Greek, was compelled to be circumcised:

vs.  4.  And that because of false brethren unawares brought in, who came in privily to spy  out our liberty which we have in Christ Jesus, that nthey might bring us into bondage:

vs.  5.  To whom we gave place by subjection, no, not for an hour; that the truth of the gospel might continue with you.

vs,  6.  {Paul's Gospel was perfect and Complete For gentile Christians}  But of these who seemed to be somewhat, (whatsoever they were, it maketh no matter to me; God accepteth no man's person:0  for they who seemed to be somewhat in conference added nothing to me.

vs.  7.  {Two different kind of Gospel programs: one for Jews and one for Gentiles.

vs.  8.  But contrarywise, when they saw that the gospel of the circumcision was  commited unto me, as the gospel of the circumsicision was unto Peter:

vs.  9. ( For he that wrought effectually in Peter  to the apostleship of circumcision, the same was mighty in me toward the gentiles.)

Didache - The Teaching of the Apostles

    in Religion

The passages from Barnabas, Hermas, the Apostolic Constitutions, and the Epitome serve as an introduction to the Didache as discovered by Bryennius, and published at Constantinople from the Codex Hierosolymitanus. No other manuscript or version of it has been found, but there is no reason to doubt that it is a genuine manuscript of the eleventh century. It contains, besides the first and second Epistles of Clement, a complete text of the longer recension of Ignatius, "The Epistle of Barnabas," "The Synopsis of St. Chrysostom," and "The Teaching of the Apostles," which comes between the Clement and Ignatius.
