In addition to his vast repertoire of original compositions, Strider also incorporates covers of his favorite songs, done Strider style. Strider exhibits an intricate, mesmerizing playing style accompanied by evocative lyrics and melodic vocals. His 40 plus years as a musician has resulted in music that can be described as alternative folk rock, a harmonious blend of myriad genres, a sound that is uniquely Joseph Strider.
Joseph’s heritage is as much a part of his music as it is a part of his being. He is a staunch supporter of the non-profit organization Rez Aid, based in Pennsylvania, volunteering his time and talent to assist in efforts to bring food, life essentials, and monetary donations to the shamefully mistreated Indigenous Peoples of Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota.
