My Brain Epiphany

Hosted by Craig Sicilia

This is brain injury and developmental disability awareness month.  What   do you think people are aware of about your disability or injury?  Do you think they know about what it is to live a life with your disability?  Are you sharing what it’s like or is it someone else sharing.  If it’s someone else I bet their not talking what it’s like, because it’s probably a profession of some sorts, like a doctor or law firm.  So they probably talking cure or prevention.  Not living a life better than the one previous or without disability.

I know no one likes the label disability, but guess what no one is perfect, and in fact the greatest inventors, explorer and lovers were people with profound disabilities.  Kind of like some of the best actors need help reading their scripts but know how to bring it to life.  If everything was perfect we wouldn’t need to invent better ways or accommodations

I can seriously say my injury was the best thing that happened to me, and the world I am part of.  I would not be doing any of what I am doing if it were not because of my injury.  I care deeply, love deeply in fact do everything from the heart but yes a big but, trust has been hard so many tried to find the fault in me the new me.  To the point that death seamed the only option.        It is hard and much meanness you will see but let it go that is their problem yours is to learn this new you.  And live it.
