Recovering from a brain injury takes a long time and is a process filled with many tricks and few treats.  In the early years it seems like a bad dream that we can't wake up from.  We stumble and fall many times during this process and if we are lucky we have family and friends to help us learn ways to regain our independence.  Many of us learn from these experiences and move on but some don't and become victims to a society that cares little about how we are treated.  There are tricks we can learn from other people with brain injuries to become more independent in our communities. There are also treats we can receive by becoming active members in our communities. Tonight - Ken Collins will talk about lessons he has learned from living with his brain injury over the last 36 years and why he says his brain injury is the best thing that has happened to him.
