'A free press was 'indispensable to democracy' during his two White House terms – hinting that he disagrees with President Donald Trump's assessment of some reporters as 'the enemy of the people. We need an independent media to hold people like me to account,' Bush said on the 'Today' show. I think power can be very addictive, and it can be corrosive, and it's important for the media to call to account people who abuse their power, whether it be here or elsewhere." former President GW Bush

As depressing as DJ Trump’s war on the media is, it’s not all bad news. His administration has actually sparked some of the best investigative reporting we’ve seen since Watergate on the Russian connection and Trump’s financial conflicts – especially from The Washington Post, CNN, and The New York Times. It’s also clear that the majority of the American people aren’t buying Trump’s assault on the press.
The majority of Americans realize that the enemy is not those telling the truth. The real enemy of the American people is a president who tries to suppress the truth. Bill press
