On April 19th, we will celebrate the 27th Anniversary of the Gay Officers Action League by sharing excepts of a 1995 taped interview with GOAL’s founder; the late Sgt. Charles Cochrane. Then we are going behind bars!! This segment will feature Sgt. Michael Barron of the Florida Department of Correction. he will discuss what It's like being a gay supervisor working with staff and inmates in a state prison. Michael is also the president of Florida Legal. We will also have Cole Bouck from the Michigan Department of Correction. He will talk about steps his agency has taken to address LGBT staff concerns, and how they fight homophobia in the prison setting. We will be talking about ways to design effective programs for LGBT inmates as they prepare for their return to society.
