Getting Rid of the Poisonousness Effects from Unhealthy/ Toxic Relationships. Of course, no relationship is perfect since no individual person is perfect. But not all relationships should be saved! By definition, a toxic relationship is a relationship characterized by behaviors on the part of the toxic partner that are emotionally and, not infrequently, physically damaging to their partner. A toxic relationship is not an emotional safe place. A toxic relationship is characterized by insecurity, self-centeredness, dominance, control. Types of Toxic Relationships:The Deprecator-Belittler, The “Bad Temper” Toxic Partner, The Guild-Inducer, The Overreactor/Deflector, The Over-Dependent Partner, The User, The “Independent” (Non-Dependable) Toxic Controller, and The Possessive (Paranoid) Toxic Controller.  So why do people behave in toxic ways and why do others put up with such behaviors?
