Nuensie “Nancy” Suku Oakley

Born and raised in Loeng Nok Tha, Thailand, Oakley’s tenacious spirit carried her from childhood to teen years when she eventually came to the United States during the Vietnam War.  After working in civil service for over 20 years, she embarked upon her dream of entrepreneurship.

She initially delved into the world of real estate and amassed millions of dollars in assets. In 2008, she branched out into retail business along the beautiful San Antonio Riverwalk where she now owns a popular gift shop, a jewelry store and a bookstore.

Her powerful journey from poverty to success, documented in her recently released book The Quest for Serendipity, is one that has captured the hearts of thousands of fans who have admired her ability to bounce back from tragedies, including domestic abuse, to become a reputable business owner and entrepreneur. This is a personal journey that she also documents in her second book The Road to Success, A Small Business Owner's Guide to Life, Financial Freedom and Achieving Your Dreams. She has been featured in Forbes, one of the nation’s premier business publications, as well as in Divine Magazine’s “36 Most Influential People” issue.

While Ms. Oakley still strives to achieve ever higher goals for herself, she now spends much of her time trying to give back to other women who are striving to rise above the domestic abuse and displacement issues that challenged her own life as well as other community services.  She currently lives with her family near San Antonio, Texas.
