Bernadette Johnson is an accountant, author, business consultant, professional speaker, radio host and trainer committed to “Keeping Small Business in Business.” As President of By The Book Accounting, she has helped hundreds of entrepreneurs across the country start, run, and grow thriving ventures.
Bernadette’s sense of humor and ability to translate accounting language into “plain English” make her a popular workshop leader. She has conducted training sessions for the U.S. Small Business Administration and has developed her own seminar series. Bernadette has helped workshop participants and clients alike avoid costly mistakes and save thousands of dollars in taxes. She published her first book, Business Blueprint: A Small Business Owner’s Guide to Starting & Running a Business THE RIGHT WAY! in October 2010. Her second book entitled: Life and Basketball: 7 Locker Room Lessons That Score Big In Life was released in July 2014. She also hosts her own radio show called, Bernadette Speaks, where she interviews guest on topics that are Real. Relevant. Resourceful.
Bernadette has a B.S. in Accounting from Cheyney University of PA and later earned her MBA from Keller Graduate School of Management. In 2013, she became a Certified Fraud Examiner. She is currently pursuing a Masters in Fraud and Forensics at Carlow University.
