Tonight we pay tribute to the greatest boxer of all time and the most influential man of the 20th century.Muhammad Ali born Cassius M Clay in 1942 shook up the world. He was the ultimate symbol of Black pride and redemption.Ali along with Bruce Lee,Malcolm X,Kareem Abdul Jabar,Dr J and others were my childhood role models.I read all of their biographies as a youth.Muhammad Ali shaped my world view the most.My hero an icon.I knew deep down he was right in what he stood for.As we mourn his passing,I want to take time to reflect just what he meant to us as a people.I also want to talk about the cowardly detractors trying to tarnish his legacy.Already clowns like Pierce Morgan and Bill Oreily are slandering him for his views while he was in the Nation of Islam. It seems we have a problem,White America is unrepentent for the treatment they gave our people and created the context inwhich Muhammad Ali was talking about. It seems we have not advanced in respect one bit since the 1960's.All of the books, lectures, speeches and movies have not changed the minds of the majority of White America who are unrepentent for slavery and the hell they put us through.Tonight we put things in proper context as we pay tribute to the GREATEST OF ALL TIME.
