For years, charitable organizations have gone hat in hand to the wealthy, middle class and poor alike to generate the money to fund their good works. But is this model outdated? And is there an easier, more reliable way to create income for philanthropies?
Our guest, Sam Caster, has successfully run an international charitable organization that has provided millions of servings of micronutrients to children in 86 different countries - including children in North Korea. Yet in 2008, with the collapse of the economy, he saw 70% of his funding disappear. Faced with the instability of relying on discretionary income, he wondered if there were a better way to generate income to serve the children. And he found it.
He will share how he has created a unique funding model that uses the engine of private enterprise to fuel his dream of ending childhood malnutrition while providing sustainable income for any nonprofit organization.
