Edgar nominated Robin Yocum joins Authors on the Air to talk about his novels

Authors on the Air  host Pam Stack welcomes Edgar-nominated author ROBIN YOCUM to the studio to discuss "A Brilliant Death" and his other work.  A Brilliant Death is Robin’s third novel. Publishers Weekly called it an “engrossing coming-of-age mystery” and “a satisfying portrait of boyhood friendship.”  Robin Yocum’s A Brilliant Death crosses a gripping mystery with a coming-of-age tale, offering a vivid, moving portrait of both boyhood friendship and rust-belt America. Set in the Ohio River Valley in the late 1960s and early 1970s, the two young protagonists unravel a mystery almost two decades old. A Brilliant Death received enthusiastic praise from Mystery Scene magazine,Publishers Weekly, Booklist, Shelf Awareness for Readers, RT Book Reviews, the Toronto Star, and many others. This is Robin Yocum’s first Edgar® Award nomination.

Robin’s first novel, Favorite Sons, was named the 2011 USA Book News Book of the Year for Mystery/Suspense, and was a Choose to Read Ohio selection for 2013-14. His second was the critically acclaimed, The Essay. He also is the author of two nonfiction books: Dead Before Deadline, and Insured for Murder, which he co-authored with Columbus Dispatch colleague Catherine Candisky.
