Mr. Pfaffmann, who holds a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Michigan and an Executive MBA in Business Administration from Baldwin Wallace College, began working as a ship building electrical engineer from 1951-52. He has since been with his current company, actively working for over fifty-nine years now.

In his current role as Vice-President, Pfaffmann consults on special research projects, developing thermally-enhanced, manufacturing processes, operating at accelerated rates for greater efficiency. Throughout the course of his career, he has authored over thirty professional papers and has thirty-three US patents in his field, in addition to several foreign patents.

Focusing his energy on two major projects funded by the Department of Energy, Pfaffmann said, "The US must revitalize and strengthen its global leadership in durable goods manufacturing, the only real effective way for increased US wealth. We must move to use more effective disruptive technological innovations, driven by the high-density, computational simulation tools that are now available."
