I am embracing this topic this afternoon because of my study in genealogy. Many people both black and white say that we should get over it and move on. Like so many  who believe  that slavery happened a long time ago. I can used the Wall Family of Mississippi as one of the many families who were held as slaves &  peons well into the 20th century. Once we understand the very essences of slavery and it's personal afftect on families we will have a better understanding of  present day situations that many famlies are faced with. There are many misconceptions about genealogy and it attempts to help us  understand the present day conditions of African American families. A combination of economic, social and political reasons has always influence the system of slavery. Please join host and co-host Dr. Okpara Nosakhere for this discussion.
