Labor Sec. Hilda Solis raised some eyebrows, when she stated that she would “… protect all workers here in this country”, MEANING illegal immigrants. On Monday, she signed agreements with the governments of the Dominican Republic, Costa Rica and El Salvador, as she did with Mexico, Nicaragua and Guatemala.
This added fuel to an already contentious issue, which has been further underscored by recent Court decisions to table Arizona’s controversial SB 1070 and Alabama's UB 56.
This Saturday at 6:30 AM, A New Day for Al-Islam Aftershow, we will address the Immigration issue. Are the pronents of tough laws, motivated by racism? Are those wishing more leniency, oblivious to the impact on an already, burdened economy? What DOES President Obama mean by comprehensive immigration reform”?
