NO to More Transportation Taxes in Orange County, Florida!!!

Orange County Mayor Jerry Demings is proposing a hike in our county sales tax to pay for the failed mass-transit programs known as Lynx and SunRail.

Reasons to Oppose this Regressive Sales Tax:

  • Orange County taxpayers already pay too much in transportation taxes.
  • Orange County gives away $125 million to Universal for their new theme park
  • Orange County gives millions to Universal for Pedistrian Bridges, but refuses a Pedistrian Bridge for UCF Students
  • Orange County refuses to reign in the Reckless / Out-of-Control Growth which is the primary reason for our transportation problems.
  • The Florida Tourist Development Tax should be used for Transportation instead of a Political Slush Fund.  $605 million to be spent on an expansion of the already very large Orange County Convention Center/Comlex
  • We must shut down SunRail - It is a failed system.  It was all about FREE federal tax dollars and not about a real solution for local mass-transit.
  • We need a viable mass-transit solution.  Lynx - the local bus service is totally disfunctional.
  • Sign Petition to put a halt to excessive Toll Taxes

Mayor Demings holds "Orange County Transportation Town Hall Meetings"

  • Next Meeting is Nov 19th Start Time 6:30 at the Barnett Park Gymnasium, 4801 W Colonial Drive, Orlando, FL 32808
