Losing the institute’s space would be “devastating” at this juncture, said Clifford Holt, owner of Edutainment. The company, which concentrates on original theater productions, has just started getting recognized by venues, he said. The incubator “is priceless because it would’ve taken a number of years to make the contacts we have now,” said Holt, whose company has been at the facility for just 15 months. The loss of a minority-focused business incubator in Prince George’s County to foreclosure would be “devastating,” according to one tenant of the Suitland facility. The 13-year-old Economic Development and Training Institute, which provides space for 32 businesses, has been a valuable resource to the minority-business community, its tenants say.
