Coffee for the Birds

Of the 6 million acres of coffee lands, 60% have been stripped of shade trees since 1972. In Mexico, shade coffee plantations support up to 180 species of birds. Consumer demand for shade-grown coffee can help stop the aggressive removal of trees and to save forest habitats.
