For brevity's sake, let's just jump into the pool, shall we?  Greetings and Welcome to the latest installment of the saga known as Afronerd Radio'sMid Week in Review (MWIR) podcast airing Wednesdays at 7:30pm ET.  Your hosts, Capt. Kirk and Dburt have been selected for this week's mission to provide analyses for the following topics:  the team tries to make sense (pretty much an impossibility) out of the murderous rage, ensuing death and tragedy caused by Cleveland killer, Steve Stephens; and Dburt makes an uncomfortable connection between Stephens and the race terrorist who also killed an older Black male (in NYC); with so many high performing Black students of West African extraction gaining entrance into prestigious US schools, isn't it time for African-Americans to place greater importance and meaning toward the AFRICAN in the African-American descriptor?; and while delving more into the African excellence phenomenon, we highlight some of the concerns of Breaking Brown's Yvette Carnell and her deconstruction of Nigerian Youtuber/author, Luvvie Ajayi's apropriation of the African-American experience;  modern public slave auctions are taking place in Libya perhaps the renewing the legacy of the Arabic slave trade (vs the historic transatlantic slave trade); a Black feminist's "educated hoe" graduation cap goes viral (really?);  rapper J. Cole is rethinking the concept of rap beefs as being detrimental to the Black Community; famed journalist/Fox News correspondent, Geraldo Rivera revists his assertion that commercial hip hop is worse for Blacks than post civil rights racism after Kendrick Lamar name drops him in a new single and lastly, Dburt reiterates his rant entitled, "The Death of Cool."  Call in live at 646-915-9620.
