Howdy, What's up, Xin Chao and Kana Lafiya to all our consistent podcast supporters!  Welcome to a new installment of Afronerd Radio'sGrindhouse show airing this Saturday at 6pm EST.  Listen to your favorite "Podcast Doom Patrol" (Daryll B., Claire Lanay, Capt/ Kirk and Dburt) as they wax about the latest goings ons in pulp/pop culture: Legendary Pictures' Warcraft video game film adaptation is released this weekend to underwhelming reviews and a sluggish domestic box office-Does this equate to superhero/fantasy fatigue? (e.g. X-men, TMNT, Depp's Alice, etc); the crew takes notice of two female heroes of color that hopefully will gain traction in the marketplace-Edgardo Miranda Rodriguez' La Borinquena flys in just in time for NYC's legendary Puerto Rican Day Parade and just who is Riri Williams and how did she build an Iron Man suit unbeknownst to Tony Stark? (see Invincible Iron Man #7); the Injustice and Watch Dogs (both sequels) video game trailers hit the cyberwebs this week; according to Latino Review, Battlestar Galactica may beheaded for the big screen courtesy of Hunger Games' director, Francis Lawrence; and in further evidence that Girls Wanna have Fun-the WB will be releasing the female centered DC Super Hero Girls on DVD in August (and Dburt notices some merchandising issues with the Target store campaign);  also in August, basketball legend/author, Kareem Abdul Jabbar's Mycroft Holmes and The Apocalypse Handbook comic series hits the shelves. And lastly, why hasn't DC considered their own Fantastic Four analogue series? (aka Doom Patrol or Challengers of the Unknown).  Call the hosts live at 646-915-9620.
