The PAWS program pairs select Texas Juvenile Justice Department (TJJD) youth and K9 partners for 12 weeks. The dogs come from the Corinne T. Smith Animal Center to learn basic commands, improved socialization skills and earn American Kennel Club (AKC) Canine Good Citizenship award. Youth learn responsibility and benefit from the companionship. Holli Fenton, TJJD Dorm Supervisor, is my guest.
