Business Talk with Ryan Lippe Fraud Prevention March 30, 2016 at 1:00 pm

March 30, 2016 at 1:00 pm – BUSINESS TALK – Business Security Forum with Ryan Lippe, Consumer Protection Section, Office of Attorney General Mike DeWine with introductions from Russ Howell, CISSP with HealthSecureIT.  Ryan Lippe is with the Consumer Protection Section, Office of Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine.  Ryan will discuss their specialized unit “Identity Theft Unit” and “Preventing Scams”. While many identity thefts may occur from online hackers, this unit is meant to specifically repair the damage done to victims of ID theft.  The consumer advocates in this unit work with credit agencies, creditors, collectors and/or other organizations on the victim’s behalf.  Identity theft occurs when someone obtains and uses one's personal information without their permission to commit a fraud.  Other discussion points include what the Ohio Attorney General’s Office does and how it helps Ohioans with consumer protection.
