#41 Numbers 25:10-29:40 Phineas Charles and Rose Martin

The Law can take you to the promised land, but it can't take you in.  Out of love and concern for the people he has led for 40 years, Moses (law) asks God for a successor.  God appoints Joshua (Jesus) to take the people in.

As all those who were 20 years or older when they left Egypt have died, the younger generation continues their preparation for entering the promised land.  

Reverence for God is established, and now Moses divides the land by lots and tribes.  Reference to the division of land in Ezekiel during the Milennium is made.

Moses lays hands on Joshua in a ceremony all the Israelites can see, and Moses passes the mantle before his death.
