Entertainers are not leaders. During the early nineties many record companies, floundering due to low record sales, went into a evil alliance with the private prison industry. People (especially Black people) were getting arrested less. Crime was at a twenty year low. Slave catchers were losing money and had no way to "secure the bag" they once had. These industries joined forces out of desperation, devilish desires, and #racism. The music industry promised to promote Black #rap artists that would go along with the agenda of glamorizing a bastardized gangster lifestyle that would glorify crimes that carried the longer sentences and they would shelve the artists that promoted positivity in return for sales of their stocks. This is how rap music became the commercials for felonies and #JayZ became the spokesperson for this form of commercialized criminality.
