Courageous Journey-A Mother & Daughters' Journey to Wellness

I don't believe in coincidence. I believe that God brings people into our life for a reason.  This was the case when I first met Sondra Torres and her beautiful daughter Chanel.I was in Tampa, Florida visiting a Unity Church Book Store. Instantly I knew that I was meeting a mother and daughter who had a story to share.

Sondra Torres's daughter, Chanel has Fetal Alcohol Syndrome. Theirs is a story of not just courage but of unconditional love, optimism and perseverance. They have written a book "Signing with a Heavy Hand  and Heart Love, Mommy" that is about their journey and the perils of Fetal Alcohol Syndrome. Their book has won the prestigious Mom Choice Award, and is a  finalist  for International Readers Favorite Book Award . 

Sondra Torres is on a mission to inform and educate about Fetal Alcohol Syndrome "I have won many awards for my work. The awards I’ve won have been great, but my biggest award is knowing that my message is being delivered and knowing that I might be helping so many people and unborn babies. . If I can prevent one more child from this awful syndrome I will be happy."
