Cal Tech hasn’t won a basketball tournament in 25 years. The Los Angeles Times Article Saturday, 10-16-10. “A men’s team that has not won a conference game in 25 years--it is 0-297 during that time--ran on to the floor accompanied by one cheerleader, the school’s only cheerleader, and only on nights when he doesn’t have a lot of homework…” My questions: Why is academic excellence divorced from athletic excellence? Is there a neurological argument for the divorce? Is there a mathematical formula to justify the separation? what's the neurological explanation for Cal Tech's renowned academic prowess? Cal Tech's dismal athletic performances are also renowned. Why haven't its neurological academic functions merged with its athletic capabilities? What's the mathematical formula to link the 2 disciplines? How can this formula be developed? What are required for developing such a formula?
