Michelle Markos and Ree Cee

My name is Michele Markos and I live in Jasper, Georgia which is located in the beautiful north georgia mountains.  I am a single mother with a lovely 6 yr old little girl who is the love of my life.  I have been writing poetry since 1993 and I truly love writing and also living in the mountains creates a wonderful environment for inspiration.  I have been in the medical field since 1995 and only recently chose to become a full time mom and I am loving every moment of it.

ReeCee hails from Illinois, outside of St. Louis, Mo. In addition to her work as a freelance journalist, she dedicates a great deal of time toward community activism, mostly in the area of issues pertaining to equality and domestic violence. In this capacity, she speaks to organizations and students about prevention of and recovering from violence in the home. She uses her art to bring attention to this cause in varying manners, including organizing an installment of The Clothesline Project. She has had her poetry published in a number of university press magazines, as well as a few small literary journals, but mostly has concentrated her craft on spoken word up until this point.
