Visionary, Successful Leaders build their teams with empowered, passionate, enthused, innovative, creative, energetic and confident people.
Employee Engagement tells a sad yet troubling story. It seems leaders do not surround themselves and build teams with people who have the qualities mentioned above. Research from the Towers Perrin’s Global Workforce Study showed that only 22% of our workforce is engaged, 68% are not engaged, and 10 % are disengaged. They also found that 4 out of 5 employees are not contributing up to their potential. This research was based in a study of 44 industries and 26 countries.
Perhaps it is time to re-visit Recruitment Practices, Induction Processes, Talent Attraction and Development.
“All we are is our ideas, or people. That’s what keeps us going to work in the morning, to hang around these great bright people. I’ve always thought that recruiting is the heart and soul of what we do.” Steve Jobs. He also said that his biggest concern was whether the people Apple recruited will fall in love with Apple, because if they did, everything would be perfect.
”Do not hire a man (or woman) who does your work for money, but him (or her) who does it for the love of it.” - Henry David Thoreau,
What makes people fall in love with their organisations? What makes them devoted? Does it perhaps something to do with the way we attract and select talent?
We will be sharing a new perspective on Recruitment and its effects on Employee Engagement and Potential Realization.
