Episode 3: Mindset Monday - What are you Building (and why?)

Today we examine our attitude about building our business. What exactly are  you building and why are you doing it? Some things to think about:

Mindset questions:

• Owner v manager v worker (add in investor too!) - do you intend to actually make the coffee at your coffee shop or are you going to manage the workers? OR are you going to run the store financially and let a manager manage. You get to decide.
• Passive v active participation - are you wanting to be hands on or are you interested in passive revenue? How involved do you need to be to be satisfied? Can you shift that to build a better life and better business?
• Investment v expense - is all money an expense? Can you get into the mindset that spending money is an investment? Are you willing to learn your "numbers" so you can make wise investment decisions?

And, the final and most important question I ask you to ponder is this - does your business have to be your passionate purpose? Is making money enough of a purpose in business or does it have to be social service monetized so you can feel better about spending time at it?
