I met Shawna at the Start-Up Riot Conference in Atlanta and having been in the mobility / connectivity business I was curious to check out her idea. As we often preach on SBR - go find a need and go get customers and I think Diner Connection is on to a compelling idea. Diner has created a mobile text message service allowing restaurants to communicate with patrons creating great efficiencies with wait list management and other services benefiting restaurants and their customers. People hate waiting for their tables and this service allows them to do other things while waiting and not have to wait at the restaurant with those clunky vibrating devices.
