I first wrote this book in 1998, when it was published under the title, When the Earth Moves: Women and Orgasm. I wanted to illustrate that women’s sexual responses are extremely varied, and no one has any right to judge any as better than others; they all need to be allowed to be what they are. So very little comprehensive information about how much we vary is available to the public that many of us still feel we are not doing it the ‘right’ way, even though it’s impossible to work out what that is. My motivation in writing was to clarify that there is no such thing as the right way, and Violet Blue‘s wonderful foreword has made me feel I was successful.
