Spiritual Formation is growing in popularity today. The idea of spiritual formation is based on the premise that if we do certain practices, we can be more like Jesus. With these practices, anyone can do these mystic rituals and find God within themselves.
IN some sense, it appears ok. I think there is a fine line between Godly and pleasing to Him to being unbiblical and heresy. Some would have you believe that spiritual formation is another term for Sanctification. But...is it really?
Spiritual formation may be popular and it has infiltrated in some degree nearly all evangelical denominations. But instead of moving us closer to God, it moves us further away from the truth of God’s word to a mystic Christianity.
