Most people are impressed and awed with extreme wealth or someone who has accumulated materialism and great sums of money. Without questioning the person's heart or motives, we automatically judge the rich person or persons as a success. We are equally hasty to label another person a failure if they ahve a mundane job that pays average wages. Forget that the wealthy person has a terrible character, cheats in their marriage or drinks too much. Forget that the hard worker has a heart of gold and a desire to be kind.
The wealthy person is automatically considered more important because of his performance. We look down upon basic hard work if it doesn't bring wealth!
