“I can breathe.  I can’t breathe” gasped Eric Garner with his last words as NYC police choked him to death.  Is this a trend?  Is this a cycle?  What to do about?  Who is breaking the trend and cycle?  Another death, another black man, another police not indicted…has the nation in an uproar, in protest, in debate, in dispute, in conflict again.  Is the nation suffocating with hate, unforgiveness, misunderstanding, denial… in its own chokehold?  This brings us to the question of the day, which is who is Breaking the Chokehold?  Helping us with that is Reverend Thomas Bates, who retired after 25+ years as state highway patrol lieutenant and who Associate Pastor at Bethel Colbert Baptist Church in North Alabama,
