With her PBS show a hit, Pati's Mexican Table, Pati Jinich stops by to share tips from her new cookbook.

Born and raised in Mexico City, chef Pati Jinich is on a mission to show the United States that real Mexican home cooking is not at all what we've come to expect.

Pati introduces readers to fresh and exciting ingredients, cooking techniques, and recipes, many of which are not well known outside of Mexico. Contrary to popular belief, these dishes are not all spicy, meaty or covered in heavy cheese-far from it!  And the ingredients are shockingly easy to find on supermarket shelves.

Pati Jinich is the official chef of the Mexican Cultural Institute in Washington, D.C. She is a regular guest in the national media, including The Today Show, The Chew, Fox News, NPR and The Splendid Table.  She hosts live programs for the Smithsonian Institution and has cooked at Blair House, the offical guest house for the president of the United States.
