B & Y Farms has evolved over the last 8 years since Judy had been living on her 74 acre farm since 1991, where she pursued her passions for organic gardening, raising chickens and ducks, and homeschooling her family.
 

An introduction to Tunis sheep at the New York State Fair in 2007 led Judy to seriously reinvent the farm, adding a brand new barn, watering system and fencing. Her first flock of 5 Tunis sheep arrived in 2008, and the rest, as they say, is history. She has expanded to a registered
flock of more than 50 purebred Tunis sheep. Judy practices intensive rotational grazing on approximately 10 acres for all the livestock she raises.

In addition, B&Y Farms raises Duroc-Yorkshire and Large Black pigs and Cornish & Poulet Rouge chickens.  The pigs spend their lives 100% outside and in the garden.  Outdoor moveable poultry houses allow the chickens to remain on clover pasture. When grain is administered, it is
certified 100% fresh ground local, GMO free and gluten free.
 

The Tunis sheep are raised only on pasture and unsprayed hay, with grain given during gestation and nursing to the ewes. Although not organically certified, the land is completely unsprayed, and no herbicides, pesticides, fungicides are used, EVER.

All produce is grown on premises on intensively farmed gardens. Judy overwinters her pigs  in the garden, allowing them to forage for leftover produce, while enriching the soil for the next
planting season. All poultry, lamb & pork is humanely raised on premises.

Lamb and Pork are available custom USDA butchered.  All meats are cryowrapped and frozen.  Lambs may be ordered whole fresh.
