What is so special about an award winning documentary entitled “In Jackson Heights? 

"In Jackson Heights is a wonderful depiction of many communities within the community of Jackson Heights," said NYC Council Member Daniel Dromm "With the film already being three hours long, obviously not every community could get equal time on screen.  The Jackson Heights depicted in the film is a large part of the Jackson Heights that I know and love, and is the Jackson Heights that people travel from around the world to visit.  Jackson Heights is hot.  It was extremely honored to be asked by In Jackson Heights Filmmaker Fred Wiseman to accept the New York Film Critics Circle Award for this documentary”

ASTORIA STORIES celebrates the places we know and love and explores how they transform, affect, and engage residents and visitors. In a neighborhood rife with history, nine short plays and musicals bridge the past with the ever-changing present. Featuring the work of Queens-based writers and performed by an ensemble of actors, this production will pay homage to the area of NYC that APAC calls home.

Director, Dev Bondarin (APAC's artistic director) will tell about these approx.ten minute stories along with 3 of the writers: Alexander Sage Oyen (musical), Kari Bentley-Quinn (play) and Christopher Torres (play)
