Yes, there's a lot going on these days. We teeter on the brink of WWIII. Michigan football appears to be cheating. Jim Harbaugh is lying (again). The US House of Representatives finally has a Speaker.

Worst of all, the Iowa Hawkeyes, despite a woefujl offensive performance, while the defense gave up up nothing but FGs, lost to a very average Minnesota team, Wait, it gets worse than "Worst of all". The Hawkeyes had the game won, on yet another brilliant punt return by Cooper DeJean. But wait! A review of the play, which confirmed CDJ was inbounds, yielded a very confusing nullification. Not a penalty, but rather, the idea that he made a fair catch signal. Or rather, an "invalid fair catch signal". Minnesota Coach PJ Fleck, proving himself to be the tool many just merely surmised, said it was the correct call. He can't cite the actual signal, other than to say CDJ waving his teammates off the ball--a ball which bounced before CDJ grabbed and ran with it--was a fair catch signal. and that even if it wasn't, the paly should have been stopped. I'll elaborate during the show.

But I'll also discuss the huge problem with the Hawkeye offense. And it starts at the top. Either OC Brian Ferentz has full, unfettered control of the offense from his HC father, Kirk, or Kirk needs to remove him and bring in an OC who will either get it done under Kirk's rules, or stand up to Kirk and tell him change is needed. But it's not just system, either. I'll discuss all that.

Finally, with the passing of a somewhat iconic actor of the 1970s, I'll play him a musical tribute that, frankly, I have always wanted to play!
