Yes, in the wee hours of the morning (Eastern Time, that is), NASA finally sent Artemis I skyward! It was glorious to see the USA returning to an ambitious space agenda. While we may not return to the lunar surface until 2025, Artemis I will hel tell us just how far we can expect to go in the forseeable future. 

In Politics, President Trump announced his candidacy for a return to the White House in the 2024 election. In the Senate, Mitch McConnell--according to somne, by strongarm tactics--retained his Senate Minority leadership. This despite the fact many in the GOP blame McConnell for the GOP failure to regain Senate control. In Arizona, GOP gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake has not yet conceded the apparent election of Katie Hobbs. And frankly, there are several good reasons for her not to concede.And it seems Dopey Joe is pushing Va Va Vodka Nancy Pelosi to stay in the House as Minority Leader. It will be interesting to see if the current Speaker of the House will have the grace, class and dignity to hand over the gavel for a second time.

In Sports, tragedy hit the University of Virginia last weekend, and it's caused the delay or cancellation of several sports contests. This past weekend also saw a minor bloodbath in the College Football Playoff picture, at least for some of the teams looking just on the edge. This weekend could see further shake-up. For the Hawkeyes, the basketball schedule has a tough stretch approaching, while the footballers can still represent the West division in the B1G Championship Game.
