Domestic Violence Statistics: 

*11,766 of American women were murdered by a current or ex male partner between 2001-2012.

*85% of women are abused while 15% of men are abused.

*1,509 women were murdered by men they knew in 2011, 926 were killed by an intimate partner and 264 of those were killed by an intimate partner during an argument. 

*1 in 4 women will be victims of severe violence by an intimate partner in their lifetime.

*1 in 7 men will be victims of severe violence by an intmate partner in their lifetime. 

Worldwide, men who were exposed to domestic violence as children are three to four times more likely to perpetrate intimate partner violence as adults than men who did not experience domestic abuse as children.
